History

The name Schackstudion was used for the first time at a lecture about anti-positional chess in 2007. I worked with homepages at that time, and Schackstudion became a blog for the tours between tournaments that never ended – that year I played 211 games. Schackstudion has also been the name for an IM-, a GM- and a tournament to help refugees. The last one was inspired by journey to Hungary.

In February 2013, Schackstudion was registred as a proprietorship and started to offset travel carbon emissions by planting trees around Lake Victoria in Africa. 351 trees have been planted so far.
